A handmade jewellery brand with 48,000 Instagram followers was processing every order through DMs — customers would comment or message, the founder would reply with availability and payment details, accept UPI, confirm manually, pack, and ship. Inventory was tracked in Apple Notes. As orders scaled past 80 per week, the founder was spending 12 hours a day on this loop — messaging customers, reconciling payments against screenshots, updating stock counts, and coordinating courier pickups. There was no storefront, no order history, no systematic way to handle returns, and no ability to run a sale or promotion without crashing her own inbox.
We built a custom Next.js headless e-commerce storefront with a product catalogue, variant management (metal, size, finish), and Razorpay payment integration. Inventory is managed from an admin panel — low-stock alerts fire automatically. The moment an order is placed, an automated WhatsApp message confirms it with an order number and expected dispatch date. Shipping updates are triggered when labels are generated. A returns workflow lets customers initiate returns via WhatsApp with a reference number, eliminating the back-and-forth. The founder manages everything — orders, inventory, returns — from one dashboard on her phone.
